Islooites enjoy electric bus rides

Residents of the federal capital have been benefitting from the electric bus services, which provides them with a cheap and environmentally safe means of travel and access to various sectors of the metropolis.

The CDA has ensured the public service's affordability by fixing a flat fare of Rs50 for each passenger. Additionally, charging points have already been set up for the electric buses on an emergency basis at the Jinnah Convention Centre and H-9 to ensure seamless operations.

Talking to the media, Waqar Ali, a resident of G-11, lauded the standards of the e-buses and said that with the commencement of mass transit public transport system in Islamabad, its swarms of automobiles are bound to reduce.

He said, "I regularly travel by the electric buses and feel relaxed and secure during the journey as the buses have been established on international standards with spacious seats, and inbuilt air conditioning system unlike poor public transport vehicles which have untidy seats and tightly packed occupancy."

Huma Rafique, a student residing in G-8 Markaz, said that being a student, she was commuting on the public e-transport which she considered a cheaper and eco-friendly alternative to other options. The electric bus service was inaugurated by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
