Dolly Parton has announced a $1 million donation to aid those affected by the devastating Hurricane Helene. At an event in Newport, Tennessee, Parton revealed that her companies, including Dollywood Parks & Resorts, would match her donation, bringing the total to $2 million. "These are my mountains, these are my valleys. These are my people, and this is my home," the Sevierville native said during the announcement​.

Parton, known for her philanthropy, urged others to help raise additional funds, stating, "It’s going to take a lot of money, as you know. And it’s going to take a long time"​. The funds will be directed to the Mountain Ways Foundation to support ongoing relief efforts.

This donation adds to Parton’s history of charitable work, including her contributions to vaccine research in 2020 and her ongoing support of Tennessee communities impacted by disasters​.
