Vanderpump Rules’ Jax Taylor mistakenly concedes full custody of son to Brittany Cartwright

Jax Taylor's legal team is working to correct an error in his custody case after he mistakenly gave up custody.

Reality star Jax Taylor has reportedly made a significant error in his custody battle with estranged wife Brittany Cartwright. Taylor, who filed legal documents himself, mistakenly conceded full custody of their 3-year-old son, Cruz, to Cartwright. However, his legal team emphasized that this mistake is reversible. “Taylor made errors in filling out forms that are usually done by trained legal professionals, but those errors will be amended without delay,” his attorney confirmed in a statement to Page Six. The lawyer also noted that custody arrangements for their son had already been resolved, and both parents are committed to co-parenting.

The couple, who married in Kentucky in 2019, have been estranged since Cartwright filed for divorce in August 2024. According to court filings, their official separation date was January 24, 2024. Despite their marital issues, Cartwright assured that co-parenting remains their priority, saying, "We're okay, we're co-parenting. That's the most important thing."

Taylor recently opened up about his mental health journey, revealing that he checked into a facility and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and PTSD. He admitted to learning that he exhibited narcissistic behaviors and was committed to personal growth.
