As anticipated, Apple is now releasing iOS 18.0.1 to iPhone users. This update comes three weeks after the initial release of iOS 18 to the public. It addresses significant bug fixes for iPhone users, including issues with the camera, Messages, performance, and more.

See below for the complete release notes and new features.

The build number for iOS 18.0.1 is 22A3370. This update is available for all iPhones compatible with iOS 18. To install the update, go to the Settings app, select “General,” and then choose “Software Update.” Your iPhone will download the update and restart once it's installed.

Apple states that iOS 18.0.1 “provides important bug fixes and security updates for your iPhone.”

There’s a known issue where the touch screen may become temporarily unresponsive under specific conditions on iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models.

The camera may freeze while recording macro mode videos using the Ultra Wide camera in 4K with HDR turned off on iPhone 16 Pro models.

The Messages app may unexpectedly close when replying to a message that contains a shared Apple Watch face.

Some iPhones may experience performance issues due to a memory allocation problem.

Since the release of iOS 18 earlier this month, a few significant bugs and glitches have been identified. For instance, there’s an issue in Messages that causes the app to crash repeatedly, potentially leading to data loss, as we initially discovered last week. Additionally, some iOS 18 and iPhone 16 users have encountered issues with touchscreen responsiveness, which we also reported last week. iOS 18.0.1 addresses both of these problems.

Apple has also launched iPadOS 18.0.1, which includes bug fixes. This update reinstates iPadOS 18 for M4 iPad Pros after reports that the update had rendered some devices unusable.

While iOS 18.0.1 is primarily focused on resolving bugs and improving performance, Apple is already developing iOS 18.1. This upcoming update will introduce the first Apple Intelligence features along with several other enhancements. Apple has confirmed that iOS 18.1 will be available sometime in October.
