LHC dismisses bail pleas of PTI lawmakers

LAHORE:

Lahore High Court's (LHC) division bench headed by Justice Shahbaz Ali Rizvi dismissed pre-arrest bails of PTI's MPAs Sheikh Imtiaz Mehmood and Farhat Abbas and the post-arrest bail of senator Ijaz Ch in May 9 riots cases occurred after the arrest of PTI's founding chairman Imran Khan.

The accused counsels argued that the petitioners have been implicated in forged cases merely they have nothing to do with these charges.

Nothing is available on record to establish the guilt of the accused persons so the court is requested to grant

them bails.

The law officer strongly opposed the bail requesting the court to dismiss the bails of the accused adding substantial evidences are available on record to establish the guilt of the accused persons.

The bench also dismissed the post-arrest bail of PTI's lawmaker senator Ijaz Ch. Petitioner's counsel had argued that the concerned eighteen months have passed but nothing is available on record to establish his gilt.

The counsel argued false cases has been registered against his client despite he has nothing to do with these charges.
