A three-day exhibition of Islamic calligraphy, one of the oldest forms of art, was held at Government High School No. 3, Haripur, showcasing more than 100 works by local calligrapher Wajid Ali.
The newly-elected President of the Haripur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Shehbaz Mehmood Niazi inaugurated the exhibition.
Speaking on the occasion, Syed Zameer Hussain Shah, a renowned calligrapher, highlighted the significance of Wajid Ali's art, stating that this exhibition demonstrates Haripur's wealth of talent in Islamic calligraphy.
Ali said, "My love for this art began in childhood, and over time, I have reached this position thanks to the guidance and dedication of my teacher, Elahi Bakhsh Mati, an internationally renowned and Presidential Award-winning calligrapher. With his support, we have successfully organised this three-day exhibition in Haripur."
Ali mentioned that many of his artworks have been featured in major exhibitions across Pakistan. He explained that the purpose of this show is to promote Islamic calligraphy, highlight its significance, and support the dissemination of Islamic teachings.
