Millie Bobby Brown's wedding officiated by Papa from 'Stranger Things'

Millie Bobby Brown’s wedding to Jake Bongiovi was officiated by her former Stranger Things co-star, Matthew Modine. The couple, aged 20 and 22 respectively, wed in a secret ceremony at Villa Cetinale, Italy, in May, People reported. The wedding included close family and friends, with Jake’s parents, Jon Bon Jovi and Dorothea Bongiovi, in attendance.

Modine, who portrayed Dr. Martin Brenner a.k.a. “Papa” in the hit Netflix series, officiated the ceremony. "I wrote the wedding vows and they love what I wrote for them to join hands and become husband and wife," Modine shared with Access Hollywood. The actor has maintained a close friendship with Brown since they first worked together on Stranger Things in 2015, when she was 11 years old.

In a 2022 interview with Tudum, Brown reflected on her relationship with Modine, stating, “Papa and Eleven have such an intimate relationship, so we needed to be able to bond to portray that... it was just a true, real friendship.”

Brown and Bongiovi, who began dating in 2021, announced their engagement in April 2023. They recently shared their wedding photos on Instagram, with Brown captioning her post, “Forever and always, your wife,” while Bongiovi posted, “Forever and always, your husband.”
