Govt approves security plan for SCO summit

ISLAMABAD:

The government on Wednesday approved a comprehensive plan to ensure foolproof security during the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit.

The two-day meeting has been scheduled for Oct 15 -16. The plan was approved in a meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

The plan envisaged deployment of additional personnel from Pakistan Army, Rangers, FC, and Punjab Police.

The October meeting of the leaders of the member countries will be preceded by a ministerial meeting and several rounds of senior officials' meetings.
