‘Succession’ star Sarah Snook to make Broadway debut in ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’ in 2025
Sarah Snook, the Emmy-winning actor from Succession, is set to make her Broadway debut in March 2025, starring in The Picture of Dorian Gray. Directed by Kip Williams, the production is an adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s gothic horror novel, with Snook playing 26 characters. The show, which previously had a successful run on London’s West End, will be performed for a limited engagement on Broadway.
In a statement, Snook expressed her excitement for the production's move to New York, saying, “It was a singular privilege to bring The Picture of Dorian Gray to life in London, and I am thrilled we will be able to share this astonishing production with audiences in New York.” She added, “From Oscar Wilde’s timeless words to the masterful reinterpretation Kip Williams has created, this tale of virtue, corruption, vanity, and repercussion is an electrifying journey.”
Kip Williams, the artistic director of Sydney Theatre Company, where the production originated, said, “I was so humbled by the response from audiences in London... and I could not be more thrilled to be bringing this work to Broadway.”
The production features set and costume design by Marg Horwell, lighting design by Nick Schlieper, and sound design by Clemence Williams. The Broadway version will be produced by Michael Cassel, who stated, “This production is a mesmerizing spectacle that is transformative, innovative, and purely delightful.”
