Rapper YG arrested on suspicion of DUI after hitting curb in Burbank, police say
Rapper YG, born Keenon Jackson, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Tuesday morning in Burbank after hitting a curb with his red Lamborghini, according to the Burbank Police Department. Officers found Jackson near the intersection of Olive Avenue and Keystone Street, where his vehicle had come to a stop in a grassy area. Police stated that Jackson "displayed objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication" and was subsequently arrested on a misdemeanor DUI charge. It is unclear whether a breathalyzer, field sobriety, or blood test was conducted as part of the investigation.
No other vehicles or individuals were involved in the incident, and no injuries were reported. Jackson's lawyer, Joe Tacopina, responded to the arrest, stating that the rapper would contest the allegations. "One thing is obvious," Tacopina said in a text to the Los Angeles Times, "YG seems to have a bullseye on his back by certain members of law enforcement and we will be addressing that."
Jackson was booked into Burbank jail and released by 2:30 p.m. The rapper, known for hits like "Who Do You Love?" has faced legal issues in the past, including a felony robbery case dismissed in 2022 after a private settlement with a fan and an arrest in 2020 connected to a fatal shooting, though no charges were filed.
