Lucknow man kills Flipkart agent after cash-on-delivery iPhone purchase
A 30-year-old delivery boy was killed in Lucknow after attempting to deliver an iPhone to a customer who had ordered the device on Cash on Delivery (COD) and sought to avoid paying 1,800 USD for it, police said on Monday.
According to Indian media the delivery boy, identified as Bharat Sahu from Nishatganj, arrived at Gajanan's residence to deliver the phone.
However, Gajanan, along with an accomplice, killed Sahu and disposed of his body in the Indira Canal.
A State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team has been deployed to retrieve the body, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police Shashank Singh.
The Police stated that Gajanan had placed an order for an iPhone worth 1,800 USD, on an e-commerce website opting for the COD payment method.
When Bharat Kumar didn’t return home, his brother filed a missing person’s report at the police station.
Upon investigating the case, police reviewed CCTV footage and surveillance data, which initially suggested suspicious circumstances.
With further evidence, a man named Akash was apprehended in connection with the incident.
Police traced Gajanan’s contact through Sahu’s call records and detained his friend Akash, who confessed to the crime. The search for the body continues.
