Property dealer kidnapped for ransom shot dead

Police have intensified their efforts to apprehend the members of the Tigho gang.

RAHIM YAR KHAN:

A property dealer was killed by the Tigho gang in the Kacha area of Kandhkot after his family failed to pay a ransom of Rs10 million.

The gang, which had kidnapped him on September 16 through a honey trap, made the image of his body viral on social media following the execution.

Muhammad Tahir, a resident of Canal Garden, was lured by the Tigho gang from Shikarpur district in Sindh.

After abducting him, the gang demanded a ransom from his family, warning that failure to comply would result in his death. Despite the desperate situation, the ransom was not paid, and two days ago, the Tigho gang shot and killed Tahir in Garhi Tigho, Shikarpur.

His body was then displayed online, adding to the family's distress.

Local authorities had registered a kidnapping case at the City Police Station in Sadiqabad and had initiated an investigation. Efforts are underway to recover and transfer Muhammad Tahir's body for burial.

Police have intensified their efforts to apprehend the members of the Tigho gang and are coordinating with relevant agencies to bring the culprits to justice.

The incident was reported amid the escalating lawlessness in the Kacha area, known for its history of violent gangs and kidnapping for ransom.
