Passing ratio remains poor with more students failing than clearing exams

Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) has declared the results of the FA-FSC First Year Annual Examination.

A total of 59,710 candidates participated in the examinations, with 23,906 securing passing marks and 36,804 students having failed the exams, bringing the overall success ratio to 40.04%. Notably, female students demonstrated superior performance, achieving a 46.68% pass rate, whereas male students achieved a 29.01% pass rate.

Students who failed or received compartment results will have the opportunity to retake those subjects in the 2025 annual examinations. All students have been promoted to the second year, with failed subjects eligible for re-examination. Moreover, the board has eradicated the booty mafia's influence and fully digitised its systems, resulting in a computerised system. A robust, foolproof examination security system will be implemented starting next year.

This year's results are now live on the board's website, and students have been notified via SMS. Additionally, the results of the students of government and private schools have been sent to their respective schools as well.

The board has already announced the exam schedule for next year. Annual matric exams will take place in March 2025, while intermediate annual exams are slated for April 2025.
