Sean "Diddy" Combs' legal team has filed an appeal seeking to overturn a federal judge's decision to deny him bail as he awaits trial. The rapper, who is facing charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution, has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, since his arrest earlier this month. Combs has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

On Monday, attorneys Anthony Ricco and Alexandra Shapiro, newly added to Combs' defense team, submitted the two-page notice of appeal. This follows a previous request by Combs' lawyers to release him on a $50 million bond, home detention, and visitor limitations, which was denied by U.S. District Judge Andrew Carter. Prosecutors had argued that Combs is a flight risk and a danger to the community, citing allegations of witness tampering.

Judge Carter expressed concerns about the allegations of tampering, siding with prosecutors and upholding the decision to deny bail. Combs' legal team, led by Marc Agnifilo, is now appealing the decision as they prepare for trial.

Combs is being held in a dormitory-style room at the detention center, where he is housed with other high-profile inmates, including FTX co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried and former Honduran president Juan Orlando Hernández.
