Investigation Discovery (ID) is set to release a new documentary titled Chris Brown: A History of Violence, as part of its third annual "No Excuse for Abuse" campaign. The documentary, airing on October 27, will delve into the pop star's long history of legal troubles, including domestic violence and assault charges. The documentary will highlight Brown's infamous 2009 felony assault of his then-girlfriend Rihanna, as well as subsequent accusations and lawsuits. The show will explore his childhood and the ongoing cycle of abuse, questioning how Brown has maintained his superstar status despite his violent record.

The documentary also includes expert commentary and reflections from survivors. In the trailer, a new accuser, who remains anonymous, speaks publicly for the first time, stating, "That’s the only way he can be stopped." The documentary promises to offer thoughtful insights into the psychological impact of intimate partner violence.

Following the airing of Chris Brown: A History of Violence, The View co-host Sunny Hostin will lead a discussion on domestic violence. Hostin emphasized the importance of the issue, stating, "Domestic violence is a very close, personal issue to me... The more we know, the better we can help advocate for change."
