Gilani calls for South Punjab development

Senate Chairman Yousuf Raza Gilani has stressed the urgency of accelerating developmental work in South Punjab.

He expressed these views during a meeting with Additional Chief Secretary Fuad Hashim Rabbani at Circuit House on Monday. The meeting was attended by MNA Syed Ali Musa Gilani and former MPA Syed Mujtaba Gillani.

Gilani emphasised the importance of thorough oversight for the timely completion of ongoing projects, stating that winning public confidence relies on efficient public service delivery and addressing critical issues promptly. He called for permanent appointments in key institutions, urging that recommendations be forwarded to the Punjab government for action.

The chairman also directed that security arrangements be bolstered at revered shrines in the region, particularly at Qila Kohna Qasim Bagh.
