Thieves broke into a house near Rehmania Masjid in Liaquatabad after breaking the lock and looted gold jewellery worth over three million rupees, local and foreign currency, and other valuable items. The family was attending a wedding ceremony at the time of the incident. The suspects entered the house by breaking the latch of the door in a narrow alley and removed valuable items from cupboards.
Upon receiving information, SHO Supermarket Inspector Ghulam Yaseen arrived with a police party and called in a forensic team after inspecting the site. Forensic officers collected fingerprints and evidence from the crime scene.
House owner Faraz told Express Tribune that he owns a lathe machine workshop, and the house accommodates his mother, elder brothers Afaq and Fawad, their wives and children. Both brothers are travel agents, organising pilgrimage groups. He mentioned that over six houses in the vicinity belong to their close relatives. Faraz attended his cousin's wedding at Sakhi Hassan. At 10 PM, he and relatives left for the ceremony. After the bride's departure, most family members and relatives joined the wedding procession to Hyderabad, while Faraz returned home at 3:30 AM.
