Oklahoma man steals truck to make it to court hearing for stealing vehicle
An Oklahoma man is facing new charges after allegedly stealing a vehicle to attend his court hearing for a prior unauthorized vehicle use case.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, 28-year-old Cody Adams was at a gas station in Stillwater asking for a ride to his court date in Pawnee.
When he couldn't secure a ride, Adams reportedly took an unoccupied LifeNet Emergency Services pickup that had been left running.
Adams drove himself to the courthouse but was arrested after being spotted by a trooper, who said Adams "ditched" the stolen vehicle upon arrival.

Adams was later taken back to Payne County, where he was charged with vehicle larceny and given a $10,000 bond.
