Former President Donald Trump recently shared a prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel on X (formerly Twitter) in light of the upcoming 2024 elections, adding a spiritual element to the heated political atmosphere.

His message was posted on Michaelmas, celebrated annually on September 29, a Christian feast day honoring Saint Michael and all angels.

In his post, Trump prayed, “Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.”

This appeal to the Archangel occurs as Trump faces Vice President Kamala Harris in a competitive race for the presidency. A recent New York Times/Siena College poll indicates a tight contest in key battleground states.

Trump's prayer also sparked speculations of a potential conversion to Catholicism, further fueling intrigue about his religious beliefs.

Saint Michael is recognized in various religious traditions as a symbol of good overcoming evil and is associated with justice and protection.
