Ex-fiancée of Lana Del Rey’s new husband expresses surprise their marriage

Kelli Welsh, the ex-fiancée of Lana Del Rey’s new husband, Jeremy Dufrene, has expressed her surprise but shared well wishes for the newlyweds. Welsh, who was engaged to Dufrene for 12 years before their split in October 2023, spoke to The Daily Mail after learning about the couple’s recent marriage on September 26 in Des Allemandes, Louisiana. Welsh told the outlet, “I am in shock because we were engaged for 12 years, and he got married after one month. But I am happy for him.”

Welsh described Dufrene as “a very protective, hardworking, manly man” who needed a change from his life on the bayou. “He is deserving of this blessing,” she said, adding that she cares for him deeply as a friend and is glad to see him truly happy with Del Rey. Welsh also remarked, “He has always been a giver, so to have someone give to him, he deserves it.”

Dufrene, who works as a captain at Airboat Tours by Arthur, married Del Rey at a public bayou, marking a significant new chapter in his life. The couple reportedly first met in 2019, when Del Rey shared photos from one of his wildlife tours on Facebook, captioning the images, "Jeremy lemme be captain at Arthur’s Air Boat Tours."

Welsh concluded her comments by saying, “I will say that he really does look happy with her, and she does with him, which is a good thing to see.”
