Sean 'Diddy' Combs no longer on suicide watch, visits family in prison ahead of trial

Sean "Diddy" Combs, who is facing charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, has been removed from suicide watch at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, according to sources speaking to PEOPLE. The 54-year-old music mogul was placed under suicide watch following his September 16 arrest as a precautionary measure, though sources confirm he is no longer under such supervision.

A law enforcement source revealed that Combs has had visits from his family while awaiting trial, which is scheduled for early October. His lawyer told PEOPLE, “He is focused and very strong. He is concentrating on his defense and preparing for his trial.”

Combs was initially placed on suicide watch after his arrest due to concerns about his mental state. A source told PEOPLE that it was unclear if Combs had suicidal intentions, but the measure was taken as a precaution given the shock of his arrest.

The charges against Combs stem from allegations that he orchestrated events known as "freak offs," where women were allegedly coerced into sexual activities involving drugs and male sex workers. Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges. During raids at his homes in Los Angeles and Miami in March, investigators reportedly seized multiple firearms and large quantities of baby oil, which prosecutors claim were used in these alleged incidents.

Combs' attorneys have proposed a $50 million bail package, which has been denied. His lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, told TMZ that Combs is eager to testify at his federal trial.
