K-P chief minister has resorted to thuggery and should be labelled a saboteur: Amir Muqam

Federal Minister and President of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Amir Muqam, has criticised the provincial government for its lack of policy, rampant corruption, and deteriorating law and order situation. He described Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur's actions as akin to "thuggery," adding that he should be labelled a saboteur.

During a meeting of the PML-N in Swat, he expressed concerns about the government's performance. "It's unclear what is happening under this government; no one knows its policies or priorities," he stated, adding that the province has accrued a debt of up to Rs3 trillion over the last two to three years.

Muqam highlighted that the security situation is alarming, noting, "After sunset, no one can leave their homes. Numerous attacks have occurred, and now theft and robbery are rampant." He criticised the destruction of provincial institutions, indicating that corruption is pervasive and that disputes over commissions exist among the CM and his ministers.

He also pointed out the lack of essential medicines in hospitals, corruption in health cards, and vacant positions in educational institutions, stressing, "Swat University has not received salary funds, and educational lands are being mortgaged."

The minister called for the CM to be labelled a saboteur and challenged him to compete in governance with Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz. Muqam accused the leadership of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for deceiving its supporters, urging them to hold rallies in their districts instead of seeking a national platform.

He expressed his unwavering commitment to peace, stating, "The people of K-P have made sacrifices against terrorism. We commend those striving for peace and are united in our efforts." He insisted that his party would not compromise on security and would remain steadfast against terrorism.

Muqam concluded by questioning the CM's remarks regarding a revolution, urging him to clarify his position amid frequent threats of rebellion and unrealistic deadlines. He remarked on the previous governments' failure to deliver to the public despite being in power multiple times.

"We will always stand for peace and have endured hardships for it. The provincial government must maintain law and order," he asserted.
