One killed, five injured in two fire incidents

One person was killed and five others were injured in two incidents of fire caused by gas leakage

KARACHI:

One person was killed and five others were injured in two incidents of fire caused by gas leakage in different parts of the megalopolis on Saturday.

A fire erupted in a house in Allahwala Town of Korangi, killing a 27-year-old man, Ali Gohar. The blaze was triggered when a gas cylinder's pipe disconnected while Gohar was cooking in the kitchen of the house that he shared with friends. He suffered severe burns and died on the spot. His body was later shifted to JPMC where it was handed over to his friends after medico-legal formalities. The body was moved to the deceased's hometown of Mehrabpur for burial. Gohar, who supplied food to local factories and shops, has left behind two young children.

In second incident, gas leakage from a cylinder nozzle triggered a fire at an LPG shop near in Federal B Area. Fire brigade managed to extinguish the flames. However, five persons, including the shop owner and employees, sustained injuries. Although, all the injured are in stable condition.
