Gang of seven busted in Rawalpindi

Accused responsible for several incidents of theft, loss of valuables

A gang of seven young suspects, who committed robberies and snatched valuables from citizens at gunpoint, was busted on Saturday.

Weapons, stolen motorcycles, cash and other items were recovered from the gang.

Some of the suspects belong to Haripur Afghan Camp, while others hail from Rawalpindi district.

According to reports, the gang used to travel from Rawalpindi to Haripur where they caused unrest through street crimes, including theft and robbery.

The Pinyan police conducted an operation to trace them and managed to arrest seven members of the gang.

They recovered a total of Rs371,000 in cash, four motorcycles, three mobile phones and two pistols along with ammunition from their possession.

According to a police spokesperson, several incidents had occurred in which citizens were robbed of money, mobile phones and motorcycles at gunpoint in the jurisdiction of Pinyan police station.

Based on the complainants' reports, cases under FIR numbers 320 and 321 were registered under section 395 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Pinyan police station SHO Amir Khan, along with the police force, conducted an operation and arrested the suspects involved in the robberies.

The suspects are Ehsanullah, Naqash, both sons of Syed Muhammad, Izzatullah, son of Rahim Gul, Kuftan, son of Hameed Gul, who were all residents of Camp No.12. Muhammad Sohail, son of Syed Chan, Shah Sawar, son of Muhammad Zaman, Shiraz Khan, son of Nabi Gul and Jawad, son of Shireen Agha) were residents of Rawalpindi.
