Ana de Armas stars in Ballerina, a John Wick spinoff set for release in June 2025, with Keanu Reeves returning.

Ana de Armas is taking on the lead role in the highly anticipated John Wick spinoff Ballerina, set for release on June 6, 2025. De Armas will portray Eve Macarro, a former ballet dancer turned assassin seeking revenge for her family’s murder. The movie is set between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and the upcoming John Wick: Chapter 4.

The newly released trailer provides a glimpse into Eve’s backstory, showcasing several intense action scenes. In one sequence, Eve uses an ice skate to slice an opponent’s neck, while another scene shows her fighting a flamethrower-wielding enemy with a water hose. The action choreography incorporates ballet-inspired techniques, adding a unique flair to the fight sequences.

Keanu Reeves will reprise his role as John Wick in the film, with screenwriter Shay Hatten confirming that Reeves will have a substantial part in the storyline, rather than just a cameo appearance. This inclusion is expected to further connect Ballerina to the wider John Wick universe.

Ballerina marks the latest expansion of the John Wick franchise, which has become known for its high-octane action and intricate world-building. Fans are eagerly awaiting to see how Eve’s journey intertwines with the larger storylines of the existing films.
