KARACHI:

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a warning of favourable weather conditions for the spread of dengue fever in Pakistan, likely leading to a surge in cases until October.

Dengue fever typically spreads after monsoon rains and has severely impacted public health in the country. High-risk cities include Karachi, Hyderabad, Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar and others, where cases increase significantly between September 20 and December 5, especially when temperatures range from 26 to 29 degrees Celsius and humidity exceeds 60%. The disease is most active two hours after sunrise and two hours before sunset.
