Balochistan Assembly demands power plants

The Balochistan Assembly asked the federal government to set up two rental power plants to help curb load shedding.

The Balochistan Assembly asked the federal government to set up two rental power plants in the province at the earliest to help curb load shedding, on Thursday.

The house adopted a unanimous resolution in this regard with Speaker Muhammad Aslam Bhotani in the chair.

Provincial minister Mir Zahoor Buledi on a point of order said many people have been injured due to raid of Iranian Forces in bordering areas of Balochistan, while Shiekh Jafar Khan Mandokhel said people of bordering areas were being harassed by Afghan forces in Zhob district.

The speaker directed provincial law minister for raising the violations in bordering areas with the federal government.

Earlier, members of the assembly protested over prolonged load shedding and said it caused irreparable losses to the agriculture sector, the mainstay of economy of 80 percent of the people of Balochistan.
