Terrorist case: Hearing of Mumbai attack case delayed till next week

Court was also unable to record statements of three prosecution witnesses.

RAWALPINDI:

An anti-terrorism court deferred the hearing of the Mumbai attack case till September 17 after a defence lawyer expressed no-confidence in the trial judge.

The court was also unable to record statements of three prosecution witnesses. The case is being heard in Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail for security reasons. Judge Shahid Bashir put off the hearing after Advocate Khawaja Sultan Ahmed said he would ask the Lahore High Court for a change of trial judge.

Prior to this, Advocate Ahmed, who is representing Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, said they would challenge the August 27 decision regarding the formation of a judicial commission.
