Country put at stake for gang of three: Imran

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has claimed that Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa is obstructing justice, claiming the country has been put on stake to extend the tenure of a 'gang of three'.

Talking to media in Adiala Jail, the PTI founding chairman said everyone is aware of what is happening in the Supreme Court for the last couple of days, adding they have ruined the country and are now trying to weaken the Supreme Court.

He claimed judges only pronounce verdicts which are dictated elsewhere. They want to make the judges of the Supreme Court and the high court their subordinates. The judges of the high courts are being pressured. The government is bent upon destroying the entire judiciary. They want loyal judges to ensure they cover up the election rigging.

The former premier said the entire world has described the February 8 elections as fraudulent. "(Chief Justice) Qazi Faez Isa has not even made a single comment on the plight of PTI women activists languishing in jails," he lamented. The PTI founder questioned the ISPR about the whereabouts of the CCTV footage of the May 9 incidents.

"We are not being allowed to hold rallies. The job of CJP is to protect the basic rights," said Imran, adding with surprise if a rally in summer ends at 6 pm? The entire nation knows the reality, adding, "Whatever is happening since yesterday, it shows that the CJP and CEC are in connivance."

The PTI founder said the entire system, including the Supreme Court and economy, are on the verge of collapse. The CEC knows that he will be tried under Article 6 therefore the election fraud is being covered up. The CJP forwards the matter of election rigging to CEC. The CJP praises the most rigged elections. The third umpire is controlling everything as he is the captain of their team.

The Supreme Court and democracy are being destroyed due to the obsession with PTI's public support. "Why doesn't Qazi Faez Isa pay heed to the threats against judges?' Imran asked, explaining, 'He overlooks (these threats) because he is also complicit. What action has the CJP taken regarding the letter from the IHC judges?'"

He demanded that the appointment of the new Chief Justice of Pakistan be notified. The PTI founder expressed support for Justice Mansoor Ali Khan. He claimed that Yahya Khan part 2 government is in the power at the moment. Recalling history, he stated that the people of East Pakistan did not wish to leave Pakistan but sought their rights. They were pushed toward separation through the use of force. Yahya Khan prevented the winning party from forming a government to preserve his own power.

The PTI founder said the purpose of establishing a constitutional court is to undermine the authority of the Supreme Court chief justice. He said Qazi Faez isa is the beneficiary of the constitutional amendments. He is obstacle in the way of justice. "He stripped us of our electoral symbol," Imran recalled.

He announced that the PTI would hold a protest if the party was not permitted to conduct a rally in Rawalpindi.
