Judgment reserved on MTI BoG removals

PESHAWAR:

The Peshawar High Court on Wednesday reserved its judgment over multiple petitions filed by several chairmen and members of board of governors (BoGs) of different medical teaching institutions against their removal by the provincial government.

A bench consisting of Justice Ijaz Anwar and Justice Syed Arshad Ali heard detailed arguments by scores of lawyers appearing for the petitioners and the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Advocate General Shah Faisal Uthmankhel.

The petitions were filed by chairmen of boards of different MTIs including Dr Umer Ayub Khan of Khyber Teaching Hospital, Abdur Rauf Khan of Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital Bannu, Dr Mohammad Zubair of Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar, Malik Mushtaq Ahmad of Maulana Mufti Mahmood Hospital DI Khan and members of several BoGs including Hayatabad Medical Complex, Ayub Teaching Hospital Abbottabad, and Qazi Hussain Ahmad Hospital Nowshera etc.
