BLACKPINK announces 2025 world tour and full-group comeback after record-breaking success
K-pop superstars BLACKPINK are set for a major return in 2025.
According to Koreaboo, a statement from the group's label, YG Entertainment, promises a "full-group comeback," which will include a world tour in 2025. Fans can soon expect to hear "BLACKPINK in your area" once again.
The announcement came alongside a celebration of BLACKPINK’s "How You Like That" music video reaching 1.7 billion views. The song itself reached Number 20 on the Official Singles Chart, marking one of the group’s eight Top 40 hits to date.
While YG Entertainment’s statement didn't specifically mention new music, the term "full-group comeback" strongly suggests the group will be working in the studio together soon. BLACKPINK hasn’t released any new material since their 2022 album BORN PINK, which made history as the first K-pop girl group to achieve a Number 1 on the UK’s Official Albums Chart.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK member Lisa has revealed her first-ever solo fan meeting tour across Asia. The "Money" rapper will be connecting with fans in five countries.
Lisa took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce her solo fan meet-up tour in Asia. The tour begins in Singapore on November 11, followed by stops in Bangkok on November 13, Jakarta on November 15, and Kaohsiung on November 17. The tour will wrap up in Hong Kong on November 19.
Previously, BLACKPINK peaked at Number 2 on the Official Albums Chart with their 2020 release The Album and at Number 40 with 2019’s Kill This Love.
The group’s four members – Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa – have spent most of 2024 focusing on their individual projects in acting, fashion, and music.
In April, Lisa became the latest member to sign a solo deal with Sony’s RCA Records. Since then, she has released two solo singles: "Rockstar," which peaked at Number 49 on the Official Singles Chart in July, and "New Woman" with Rosalia, which reached Number 55 in August.
