NFL fans criticize Raiders for losing to Panthers with Andy Dalton as Bryce Young sits out

NFL fans expressed frustration after the Las Vegas Raiders lost to the Carolina Panthers, who benched Bryce Young.

The Carolina Panthers secured their first win of the 2024 season, defeating the Las Vegas Raiders 36-22. Veteran quarterback Andy Dalton stepped in for Bryce Young, leading the team to their highest-scoring game since 2022. Dalton threw for 319 yards and three touchdowns, becoming the first quarterback this season to pass for 300-plus yards and three or more touchdowns in a game.

The Panthers had struggled in their first two games of the season, losing by 20 or more points, but Dalton's performance sparked hope for a turnaround. NFL fans were quick to criticize Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce for the team's performance. Journalist Anthony Galaviz commented, "Terrible first half by the Raiders. Got owned by Andy Dalton." Other fans echoed similar sentiments, with one Twitter user asking, "Are the Raiders the worst team in the NFL?"

Despite beating the Baltimore Ravens the previous week, the Raiders' inconsistency has been called into question. NFL analyst Vincent Bonsignore labeled the Raiders' performance as "unacceptable" and among the worst he has witnessed from the team.

For the Panthers, Dalton's success raises questions about whether the team will continue with the veteran under center. Meanwhile, the Raiders, facing fan discontent, will look to bounce back after a confusing start to the season.
