Four cops suspended for marking proxy attendance in Qila Gujjar Singh
A corruption scandal has emerged at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh, resulting in the suspension of four officers, including the lady head clerk and deputy clerk, who were taking bribes for marking the attendance of female constables.
Sources reveal that Head Clerk Aqsa Aziz and Deputy Clerk Kiran Jamal have been receiving monthly payments, along with two other officers who also take their share.
The two officials were marking the attendance of 24 female constables in exchange for monthly payments.
A video has surfaced showing Head Clerk Aqsa Aziz and others accepting money from a constable. It has been revealed that over the past year, the Head Clerk and Deputy Clerk have been taking Rs25,000 per month from each female constable.
In total, they were collecting Rs25,000 each from 24 female constables monthly.
Both suspended officials were also giving a share to the inspector, while the PA to the SP headquarters was also taking a monthly cut from these female clerks.
In this manner, a total of Rs600,000 was collected monthly from 24 officers and distributed among four individuals.
Due to this corruption, the workload shifted to others, and fellow constables were forced to take on additional duties as corrupt female officers paid for their attendance without working.
SP Headquarters Zunair Cheema confirmed that he had received information about the corruption and promised immediate action against those responsible.
Later, SP Headquarters Zunair Cheema suspended Lady Clerk Aqsa Aziz and Deputy Clerk Kiran Jamal, while Line Inspector Farhat Lubna and Reader Amir were removed from their positions.
A show-cause notice was issued to Operator Constable Irfan.
The suspension notification has been issued, and SP Headquarters stated that corruption will not be tolerated under any circumstances. A departmental inquiry has been initiated against all officers and subordinates involved in the corruption.
