Daniel Ricciardo admits Singapore GP may have been his last Formula 1 race

Daniel Ricciardo has acknowledged that the Singapore Grand Prix could potentially be his final race in Formula 1. The Australian driver, who rejoined the Red Bull stable, admitted that there is a “realistic chance” his tenure could come to an end, with speculation mounting that Red Bull will replace him with Liam Lawson.

Ricciardo failed to deliver a strong result in Singapore, finishing as the last classified runner after a late pit stop. Speaking to the media, including Motorsport Week, Ricciardo stated, “I would have loved a better weekend, but who knows if that would have changed anything or if the decision was made prior to the weekend."

Despite eight F1 victories, Ricciardo admitted he has no desire to remain in the sport unless he’s competing at the front. "I don't want to be a guy who's just here on the grid and fighting for a point every now and then," he explained. Ricciardo, 35, also reflected on the challenges of maintaining his speed, admitting, “It definitely came easier for me when I was 25 as opposed to 35."
