Accident: Man runover by train

A man was killed after a passenger train coming from Peshwar ran over him near the Loco Shed area on Friday, police said. Mohammad Shafi, 57, a resident of Mansehra, was crossing a railway track when he was hit and killed by an incoming passenger train. The body of the victim was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for autopsy. According to the preliminary post mortem report, the victim’s skull was smashed which caused his instant death. However, his arms and legs were intact. The victim had been staying with the Tablighi Jamaat (religious preachers) at a local mosque. It was the second such incident in the area. Earlier this year, a 12-year-old boy was crushed to death after he was hit by a passenger train in Dhoke Charaghdin.
