Polio virus cripples three more children

The Ministry of Health has confirmed the detection of three new polio cases in Balochistan, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, taking the tally of cases this year to 21.

The ministry's spokesperson said the ministry remains committed to intensifying its efforts to combat the spread of polio and safeguard the health of children across the nation.

Ayesha Raza Farooq, the Prime Minister's Focal Person for Polio Eradication, expressed deep concern over the emergence of new polio cases.

She emphasized that the government remains fully committed to eradicating polio, and is undertaking serious and practical steps to achieve this goal.

She reaffirmed the government's unwavering commitment to polio eradication, highlighting the serious and practical measures being implemented to achieve this critical objective.

"The government is more determined than ever to rid the country of polio," said Ayesha, adding, "We have devised an effective strategy in collaboration with provincial governments, ensuring coordinated efforts across all regions. Implementation of this strategy is being carried out under a unified and robust policy framework."
