RAWALPINDI:

The Punjab School Education Department has released a non-salary budget of Rs4.51 billion to provide essential support for government schools across the province.

The funds are intended to cover various operational expenses, including salaries for daily wage workers and security guards, as well as utility bills for educational institutions from primary to higher secondary levels.

In the first phase of the budget distribution, the department of education has transferred the funds to the official accounts of District Education Officers (DEOs). This release comes after a delay of over two and a half months, which had pushed many government schools into a financial crisis, affecting their ability to manage daily expenses.

For the Rawalpindi Division, District Rawalpindi will receive Rs169.2 million. In the neighbouring districts, District Attock has been allocated Rs93.9 million, Jhelum District Rs66.7 million, and District Chakwal Rs98.3 million.
