Gandapur smashes truck window with rifle amid rally route blockade

The chief minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, reportedly shattered a truck window with his rifle after becoming frustrated by roadblocks on the way to a political rally in Lahore, Express News reported on Saturday.

Travelling with a convoy from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gandapur reached Ferozwala near Kala Shah Kaku, where his path was blocked by containers placed on the road.

According to eyewitnesses, he angrily exited his vehicle, striking the window of a truck with his rifle to break it. Protesters then moved the vehicle, clearing the way for the convoy to proceed towards the motorway.

The incident occurred at a point where the local administration had sealed the road with containers. In a separate clash at the Ferozwala-Kala Shah Kaku motorway interchange, PTI workers attacked police, smashing windows of several vehicles.

According to officials, the district administration had allowed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rally until 6 pm. However, convoys from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa failed to reach the venue on time. Following orders from the Deputy Commissioner, police entered the rally site, cleared the main stage, and shut down the electricity supply, plunging the area into darkness.

Speaking to the media, Barrister Saif, the information adviser to the K-P government, said, "Ali Amin Gandapur will reach the rally site and mark his attendance." He criticised the administration for creating delays with multiple roadblocks, adding that a large convoy was en route.

Saif further stated, "Clearing the rally site before Ali Amin’s arrival shows the government’s fear. The fake government and Maryam Nawaz are terrified."
