The sudden death of legendary rapper Fatman Scoop at the age of 56 last month has left the music industry in shock. Scoop tragically collapsed on stage during a concert in Connecticut, marking a heartbreaking loss for his fans and famous friends alike.

Now, a number of those close to him, including Rihanna and her boyfriend A$AP Rocky, are joining forces to pay tribute to the late star. The couple has reportedly contributed to a special song in his memory, as confirmed by insiders.

Rocky had previously revealed that he had recorded a track titled Happy Hood with Scoop, along with Slick Rick, Busta Rhymes, Flavor Flav, and Morrissey, for his upcoming album Don’t Be Dumb.

Following Scoop's passing, Rihanna has added her vocals to the track. "Rihanna and Scoop knew each other well," a source shared.

"They had collaborated before, and after his death, Rihanna was offered the chance to put some vocals on Happy Hood."

Rihanna reportedly spent a few days earlier this week at Red Bus Recording Studios in London, where she recorded her contribution. “It was a super low-key visit,” the insider added, “and she was there for a day or two until the early hours.”

A$AP Rocky, speaking with Zane Lowe on Apple 1 Music, discussed the upcoming release.

“I literally tried to figure out how to get my favourite rappers. So I got a track with Fatman Scoop, Flavor Flav, Slick Rick, Morrissey, and Busta Rhymes all on one. It’s kind of nuts. We call that one Hood Happy. That’s coming soon,” he shared.

While the release date for Don’t Be Dumb was initially set for August 30, Rocky decided to push it back to ensure he delivers the "best album ever."

The updated version is expected to drop later this year, with Happy Hood now featuring a touching tribute to Fatman Scoop.

Additionally, it has been revealed that Rihanna is back in the studio working on her highly anticipated ninth album, her first since Anti in 2016.

Fans are eagerly awaiting both Rihanna’s new record and Rocky’s album, and there is no doubt they will be worth the wait.
