K-P's first polio case emerges in 2024

The first case of polio has been reported in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) this year, with the National Health Institute in Islamabad confirming the polio virus in a nine-month-old girl belonging to the Sandokhel Union Council in the Safi tehsil of Mohmand district.

The health department has sent a summary to the chief minister for the suspension of the relevant District Health Officer (DHO) and EPI coordinator for negligence. The provincial EOC has recommended action against four more officials of supporting organisations to the National EOC.
