According to reports, the victim, Harem, son of Muslim, a resident of Kotarpan, gave his statement to the police while injured. He stated that after Maghrib prayer, he brought groceries home and was on his way to the local madrassah near the Kotarpan mosque. Near the madrassah, an unknown assailant, who had his face covered, approached him and pointed a gun at him, demanding money.
When Harem said he had no money, the assailant ordered him to stick out his tongue. When he did, the assailant suddenly cut his tongue with a blade, causing severe injury.
