VEHARI:

A video went viral on social media showing the assault on an employee of a petrol station by a police officer.

Vehari district police officer has taken notice of the incident and suspended the SHO of Jal Sial Police Station, Anis Anwar Bhatti, ASI Manzoor Hussain, and Constable Hamza Shamim.

A video went viral on social media claiming that the SHO of Jal Sial, Anis Anwar Bhatti, along with ASI Rana Manzoor and an armed guard in plain clothes, assaulted a petrol station employee at the petrol station of overseas Pakistani businessman Zaheer Abbas Tajwana, located within the jurisdiction of Ladan police at 1:00am.

They forcibly opened the cash room door and took the staff hostage, while the armed guard was tortured by ASI Manzoor and Constable Hamza.

The SHO attempted to delete CCTV footage from a computer inside the cash room and took valuable items, including the DVR and the armed guard, upon leaving.

According to SHO Anis Anwar and ASI Manawar, a robbery took place in Kachi Pakki.

Upon receiving the information, they went to the scene in a private vehicle due to a punctured tyre on the official vehicle.

When they stopped at a nearby petrol pump to check the suspects' appearance on CCTV, the gunman not only

refused to show the footage but also pointed a gun at the uniformed officers while behaving disrespectfully.

The video was shared to misrepresent the incident and evade action, as CCTV footage shows the suspects arriving at the station before the incident and interacting with the staff, who have since gone missing.

District Police Officer Mansoor Aman has taken notice of the viral video and has suspended SHO Anis Anwar Bhatti, ASI Manzoor Hussain, and Constable Hamza Shami, ordering departmental investigations.

He directed SP Investigation Vehari Farooq Ahmed Kamiyana to complete the investigation within 48 hours and reveal the facts.
