The Sindh High Court issued notices to the Sindh government, federal government, and others regarding the application for the transfer of Jinnah Postgraduate Centre from the federation to the province.
According to Express News, a hearing was held in the Sindh High Court on the application concerning the transfer of Jinnah Postgraduate Centre from the federation to the province.
The petitioners, represented by lawyers of doctors and paramedical staff, stated that according to the Supreme Court's 2019 order, Jinnah Hospital was not handed over to the federation.
The Supreme Court had ruled that even after the 18th amendment, Jinnah Hospital cannot be transferred to the Sindh government.
The lawyer said that despite the orders of the higher courts, non-commissioned officers are being assigned to Federal Public Service Commission employees at the JPMS Postgraduate Medical and Research Institute.
The Sindh government is assigning retired and favored non-commissioned officers to different departments, causing deprivation of rights of JPMS's original employees, and promotions have been stopped.
The employees' lawyer further stated that they want to bring in a higher body under the name of teaching faculty at Jinnah Hospital, order the transfer of Jinnah Hospital to the federation as per the Supreme Court's order, and stop the Sindh government's interference in Jinnah Hospital.
The court issued notices to the Sindh government, federal government, and others, requesting responses.
