In Demi Lovato’s new Hulu documentary, Child Star, they delve into the darker side of Disney Channel stardom and the pressures young actors face.

However, one light-hearted moment stood out—Lovato and former co-star Alyson Stoner reminiscing about their time on Camp Rock, specifically the infamous keyboard scene.

“I had so much fun filming Camp Rock,” Lovato recalls in the documentary. Describing their time together on the film, they added, “We were all kind of thrown into this Disney machine. We called it Disney High.”

As they discuss their experiences, the pair watch clips from the film, including the “Start the Party” dance scene. Lovato smiles, asking, “Do you remember the keyboard scene?” Stoner replies with a grin, “I don't know what you're talking about.”

They laugh as they reflect on the moment, where Stoner’s character Caitlyn plays a computerized keyboard melody. Stoner reveals the piano wasn’t plugged in during the scene, leaving her unsure of what music would be added later. “I'm supposed to be a talented producer!” Stoner jokes.

While the documentary includes such moments of humor, it also touches on more serious topics, including Lovato’s struggle with disordered eating and Stoner’s support during that time.

Stoner also opens up about their own experiences with body image and eating disorders during their Disney Channel days, discussing the pressure to look perfect in teen magazines.
