What new faces are joining the cast of ‘Black Mirror’ season 7?
The highly anticipated seventh season of Black Mirror has revealed its cast lineup during Netflix’s Geeked Week. Stars joining the dystopian anthology include Emma Corrin, Paul Giamatti, Issa Rae, Awkwafina, Tracee Ellis Ross, Peter Capaldi, and Harriet Walter. According to Variety, the season will consist of six episodes, with a release slated for 2025.
Season 7 will also see the return of USS Callister actors Cristin Milioti, Billy Magnussen, and Jimmy Simpson for a follow-up episode. Fans got a glimpse of the upcoming season through a cryptic video shared on X/Twitter by the official Black Mirror account. This video teased a few cast members along with possible writers or directors involved in the new episodes.
The sixth season of Black Mirror, which aired in June 2023 after a four-year hiatus, featured five episodes and gathered over 11.3 million views in its first four days. The series, created by Charlie Brooker, originally premiered on Channel 4 in the U.K. in 2011 and was later picked up by Netflix ahead of its third season in 2016. Since then, it has received 14 Emmy nominations and won eight, including outstanding TV movie for episodes like San Junipero and USS Callister.
