Everything we know about 'Bridgerton Season 4'
Buckle up, dear Bridgerton fans, because the tea for season 4 is hot, and it's about to steep. With Colin and Penelope's romance finally sealed in season 3 (cue swooning and scandalous Whistledown newsletters), we now turn our attention to the remaining Bridgerton siblings. Yes, five of themBenedict, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, and Hyacinthare still waiting to embark on their own paths to true love in the opulent world of Regency-era London.
So, who's next in line for love and mayhem? According to Netflix, the artsy, dreamy second son, Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) is finally about to claim the spotlight in season 4. Netflix even teased us with a clip of Benedict getting fitted for his suit for an upcoming masquerade ball, a pivotal moment straight out of the Bridgerton book series. If you're a fan of the novels, you already know what this meansBenedict's Cinderella-inspired love story with Sophie is on the horizon.
Now, if season 4 stays true to Julia Quinn's An Offer From a Gentleman, we're in for quite the fairy tale. Sophie Beckett, the hidden gem of her family, living as a servant to her cruel stepmother and stepsisters becomes Benedict's love interest. Enter a magical masquerade ball, a night of dazzling sparks between her and Benedictwho, of course, has no idea who she really is. After their enchanting evening, Benedict makes it his mission to find her. But when he later encounters a familiar housemaid, he begins to question whether love might just be hiding in plain sight.
Of course, the Bridgerton team isn't just handing us Sophie Beckett on a silver platter. Australian actor Yerin Ha will be taking on the role of Benedict's love interest, though there's a twisther character has been renamed Sophie Baek to honour Ha's Korean heritage. In an interview, Ha revealed that this change brings a personal connection to the character, adding layers to Sophie's identity in a world where appearancesand masksare everything.
According to Ha, the theme of masks will play a key role in Sophie's journey, both literally and emotionally. And after her audition scenes, it's clear that knowing when to hide and when to reveal her true self will make Sophie one of the season's most intriguing characters.
But Benedict isn't hogging all the drama. Rumour has it that Francesca Bridgerton may also be stepping into the spotlight. After the season 3 finale hinted at a budding storyline for her in Scotland, fans are buzzing that her love life may get some screen time too.
As for the rest of the cast, expect to see all your favorite familiar faces (minus Daphne and Simon, who've officially exited stage left). This includes Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), Eloise (Claudia Jessie), and the iconic Lady Whistledown, still brilliantly voiced by Julie Andrews. But new faces are joining the ton, too. Katie Leung is set to debut as Lady Araminta Gun, a widow with two daughters vying for society's attention. Rosamund, Araminta's eldest, already has her eyes on Benedictbecause who doesn't love a little competition in a love triangle?
Simone Ashley (Kate) and Jonathan Bailey (Anthony) left fans breathless with their electric chemistry in season 2, and there's hope we'll see them againBailey has already confirmed that he'll be back. While filming is already in full swing, fans will have to sit tight for a while longer. Showrunner Jess Brownell has hinted at a 2026 release for season 4.
