Dallas church removes Steve Lawson following revelation of inappropriate relationship

Pastor Steve Lawson was removed from Trinity Bible Church of Dallas after admitting to an unholy relationship.

Pastor Steve Lawson of Trinity Bible Church in Dallas has been removed from his position following revelations of an inappropriate relationship with an unnamed woman.

The church announced his removal on their website, stating that the decision was made after Lawson informed the elders of his actions. Effective immediately, he has been relieved of all ministry duties and will no longer receive compensation from the church.

In a statement, the elders expressed their commitment to support Lawson through prayer, with the hope of his personal repentance. "We are ALL sinners, and Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners," the church’s statement read, emphasizing that Christ remains the leader of the church, which will continue to thrive beyond any fallen individual.

The announcement has sparked reactions among his followers, many expressing sadness but offering prayers for both Lawson and those impacted. One person wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "Let’s pray for Steve Lawson and the woman involved, for both of their repentance." Another said, "It’s so sad to hear about Steve Lawson’s removal. He was one of my favorite pastors to listen to. This reminds us that even strong leaders struggle. Pray for your pastors daily!"

Trinity Bible Church of Dallas reassured its congregation that, despite Lawson’s removal, they will continue their focus on biblical teaching.
