Bhatta Chowk: SI killed in traffic accident
A sub inspector was killed in a traffic accident near Bhatta Chowk.

A sub inspector was killed in a traffic accident near Bhatta Chowk on Saturday morning.
Police officials said that SI Malik Ashraf Awan was trying to overtake a vehicle on his motorbike but he slipped and fell when the bike hit some cat’s eyes. They said that an oncoming car ran him over at high speed and he died at the scene, at around 10:30am.
The accident occurred in the jurisdiction of the Nadirabad police post of South Cantonment police station.
SI Awan had been in the police for 25 years and was in charge of the General Hospital police post, said the police officials.
They said that a case had been registered against the driver of the car, identified as a banker named Ammad Durrani.
