Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga, and Ariana Grande are all vying for Best Supporting Actress this award season, with their upcoming musical films stirring anticipation.

With notable performances already under their belts, the race to awards glory is heating up, but one name seems to be leading: Selena Gomez.

Having gained recognition for her role in Emilia Pérez, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, Gomez has already received glowing reviews and a Best Actress award.

Her Emmy nomination for Only Murders in the Building further cements her as a frontrunner this year. Despite Emilia Pérez awaiting its global release, the buzz surrounding her performance has kept her firmly on the Academy’s radar.

Meanwhile, Ariana Grande's Wicked is set to hit theaters in November 2024, marking her return to the big screen. While her past acting roles were popular, the initial trailer for Wicked received mixed reactions, and director Jon M. Chu’s varied track record leaves room for uncertainty.

Lady Gaga, who delivered an Academy-recognized performance in A Star Is Born, is stepping into the musical thriller Joker: Folie à Deux, set for an October 2024 release.

Though Gaga is a strong contender, the Joker franchise’s unexpected musical twist has split fans, making her path to victory less clear.

With the competition fierce, all eyes are on Selena Gomez, who may emerge as the winner this season.
