Eid Milad-un-Nabi: President, PM call for embracing teachings of Holy Prophet (PBUH)
Eid Milad-un-Nabi is being celebrated today across the country with religious zeal and fervour as President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif urge the nation and the Muslim Ummah to follow teachings of Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) as a guiding light to overcome prevailing challenges.
In their separate messages on the occasion of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi (Sallalaho Aleyhe Wallyhe Wassalam), they extended heartfelt congratulations to the entire nation on the blessed occasion of 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal.
In his message, the President said life of Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) is a source of guidance for humanity until the Day of Judgment.
Asif Ali Zardari said we need to spread the message of love and compassion for humanity taught by the Holy Prophet (SAWW).
“Today, as the world faces division and oppression, it’s imperative to spread the message of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which embodies love, tolerance, and human rights. He treated all individuals, regardless of their faith, with respect and dignity. Embracing this spirit, we must promote global brotherhood, justice, and love,” President Zardari stated.
He affirmed that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) would remain a perpetual source of guidance, and 12th Rabiul Awwal serves as a reminder of a transformative message that turned darkness into a beacon of light. He emphasized that the Prophet (PBUH) considered those who benefited others as the best of humanity.
“So on this auspicious occasion, we need to disseminate the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) message of love and compassion to humanity. His life exemplifies service to humanity, from caring for orphans and supporting the poor to inquiring after the sick,” he remarked.
The president encouraged the people to dedicate the day to the welfare of humanity and integrate the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) into their daily lives. He also prayed to Allah Almighty for Pakistan’s peace and prosperity and sought the strength to adhere to the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
Meanhile in his message, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the blessed life, noble character, and exemplary conduct of Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) serves as a beacon of light for entire humanity.
Shehbaz Sharif said on this day, we should also remember our oppressed brothers and sisters in Palestine and Kashmir, who are facing tyranny and oppression.
The day began with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital to mark Eid Milad-un-Nabi. Provincial capitals observed the occasion with 21-gun salutes. In Lahore, a well-drilled unit of the Pakistan Army performed the 21-gun salute, with soldiers chanting "Takbeer, Allahu Akbar," creating a resonant atmosphere of "Allahu Akbar."
Strict security measures were implemented during the ceremony.
Following Fajr prayers, special supplications were offered for the promotion of Islam and for the unity, solidarity, progress, and welfare of the country and the Muslim Ummah.
Processions celebrating Eid Milad-un-Nabi (peace be upon him) are set to take place across the country.
